A few of my ideas for <Map Project Name Here>
Quote from Doomsday192 on June 23, 2008, 3:24 pmOk, im going to post here, some of my ideas that i have had for Omega.
1. The Low Energy Pellet Launcher
the LEPT basically is an AR2, without the ability to shoot bullets.
its orbs can activate special buttons, knock cubes off buttons, knock over turrets, etcill post a video of it soon
2. The Aperture Science Superdense Weighted Cube
effectively, this is a cube which activates its own type of buttons(green ones) because it is more dense then normal cubes. it also cannot activate normal buttons(excuse coming soon )
3. Timed ball catchers
Just a ball catcher with a timer, not that special
questions? comments?
(if a mod feels this should be merged with the omega thread, just say so)

it also cannot activate normal buttons(excuse coming soon )how about "Regular buttons have a "max" weight, so anything OVER that will not activate said button" but "Regular Cube + Player weight" is NOT greater than a "Heavy Box"
like a weight puzzle (ie: the first scene in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark)

Quote from Doomsday192 on June 23, 2008, 4:18 pmok, good excuse
one thing is, should i have the box not pick up-able by the player?

Quote from rellikpd on June 23, 2008, 5:29 pmthat depends on the puzzle. but i would say it needs to be pick-up'able
keep in mind that the portal gun is basically a gravity gun (when you are picking up stuff) atleast thats how most people think of it. you could say that the "Aperture Science Portal Gun allows you to interact with other Aperture Science Property regardless of weight" or some other such bullshit answer

Quote from Doomsday192 on June 23, 2008, 8:15 pmi think ill do that
have 2 types of heavy cube, both being able to press green buttons
grey cubes, and black cubes
grey cubes can be picked up by the player, black cubes cant

What will the cubes look like? Will it look like a Weighted Storage Cube with gray/black lights coming from it, or solid colors? Or maybe you have something cooked up?

The more you give, the less appreciated it will be received.

If you were to require the player to place the object on a button...there would have to be a lot of guiding done to insure it lands on the button and doesn't slide off a lot.
