Possibly the most freaky thing I've seen all week.

freaky. I'd say try to reverse engineer how they used the Heavy model in Portal, however I know nothing about models.

I really don't know how to do anything with models, I'd appreciate any help at all.
So far I've replaced Chell's models with one of those boring generic males from HL2 but hes in that silly rigid pose they model them in. what I need to do is superimpose Chell's animations onto him. Also, making the player model only different on certain maps aswell, so far its a permanant change.

I have no idea what this supposed to be.

In the pic I swapped the chell_face texture for another face texture from HL2

In Portal, Valve used higher quality textures. Try doubling the texture size in photoshop (or any other program) and try again.

What I wan't to do is completely replace the player's model not just change the textures, the texture messed up because of the differences in the way the teo heads unwrap.

How did you manage to change the face texture? ...I've been trying to figure this out, I can get Chell's face texture and convert it to Bitmap and change it (or just use it as a template for a different face) convert it back VTF to np, but how do you apply them to models? (without just overwriting the original VTF of course)

EDIT: worked it out ...if any wants to know, place the custom texture in: c:program filessteam*username*portalportalmaterialsmodelsplayerchell_face.vtf
