Aperture towers map
Quote from maxgezone on May 6, 2009, 6:45 pmHey everybody,
I am working on a new map and I am wondering if it would be a good idea or if I should scrap the thing and start on another project. The idea: Welcome to aperture towers. 20 floors of challenges each with 4 rooms. You must retreave the keycard from each room to move on to the next floor. As you get higher the test get harder and wierder including: different kinds of storage cubes, a rotating room, and many other bizzar things.
now what do you think.
(I can possibly get screenshots up in a few days if you need them.)

And would the maps have something special which places them into a tower? I mean a view over a city (or a sea or...) and the player would get a look from higher positions while the level difficulty increases, thus providing a more beautiful view

The higher you get, the better the view.

Quote from Naulziator on May 16, 2009, 6:17 pmYou should also try a sky box that will hold a secret or surprise that won't be revealed until the last couple of challenges.
Something that will really make them want to continue.
Or something that will force them into finding a quick chute to the emergency shelter beneath the towers (only accessibly by the all-access pass at the very top).

Fully recovered and kicking ham!
Now if only the snow and mud goes away (pigs truly hate wet mud!).
Quote from kizzycocoa on May 16, 2009, 6:28 pmto be honest, our mod was also thinking of doing something similar.
except it would be one tower, and have no puzzles in it.I think it would be good, however, towers are hard, as you need to make the player go up and down levels. and several methods are hard to do.
for example, that 11 floored puzzle. hardly a hint to show how to get to the next floor.
