I think its got to be one of these two outcomes:
-I get my arse in gear and make TS13 the far more open project it deserves to be involving many people around the forum
OR
-I scrap TS13 and stop trying to convince myself I can get it going again
Heres why:
I took a break from portal mapping to try my hand at TF2, I found a fantastic little comunity of mappers which have grown and developed
-Everything is much more friendly there than it is here
-We've got steam chat going 100% of the time and newbies can come ask questions and the more experienced can discuss the really tricky stuff, or people can talk about whatever its relaxed.
-There is loads more reward from everything you make. you get to play with the other people in the community so you get to enjoy your map over and over and they get to enjoy it with you, portal just isnt the same portal maps are a once or twice only thing.
-Valve are keeping TF2 fresh with new stuff, for example the new payload gamestlye has got everyone buzzing about new pl_ maps people are working on and when that dies down a bit there are those 2 new maps with new environments on the way to keep everyone interested.
-This place feels harsh and void of any real quality, that I know of all the really talented users have moved on and there are plenty of talented people hanging around the tf2 mapping scene who have been helping out and providing cool stuff for ages.
Over all I'd say the key thing is that with tf2 stuff you get to play with the people you've formed bonds with and here its meer discussion.
