Awesome?
Quote from Remmiz on September 17, 2008, 11:26 amVery much so. I'll just say that I've been using vista since release and not had a single problem, if anything, its been better than using XP.

Vista is one of the greatest Operating Systems I have ever used. Comes with DX10, looks great, runs great, and has great features. I havent had a single issue and I changed my Home premium so I have all the stuff you get on Ultimate.

Microsoft is charging id to release good-looking games, sending people to PS3 or PC? And forcing Valve to charge for TF2 DLC, sending people to PC?
Does MS even want to stay in the console biz? It's a shame the 360 is so successful, because some of their marketing is full of fail.
Haha.

Quote from rellikpd on September 17, 2008, 10:03 pmmy step-uncle is a retired IBM IT guy (say 30+ years of computers) and he loves vista. I have only used it (on my wife's computer) and it seems ok.
EVERY new edition of windows (from 3.1 on) has gotten the same verdict, and eventually we reach a point where we have no choice. Upgrade or change platforms completely.
anyway back on topic. this game looks good. but i'm tired of games trying to scare the shit out of me. Thats why i love HL2 (and the episodes) so much. They are more about action and occasional fear-factor.
Don't get me wrong i started on Wolf3D (WHEN IT CAME OUT) and rocked doom2 multi-player for years. then on to quake, q2, q3, (never got into q4, it hated my computer for some reason) and after doom3 i just got tired of the "BOO MUTHAFUCKA I JUST SCARED YA!" type of game.
if i can get a chance to play this i probly will. but meh, who knows.

I can certainly understand that. I got tired of 'em too for awhile so I went to MMORPGs which I have since grown tired of too. That's why I loved Portal so much when I first played it, such a unique concept, a much needed breath of fresh air in the gaming world.
And my 2 cents on Vista: best OS Microsoft has released on a long time. Finally has a new kernel, 64 bit support to break the 3.2GB memory barrier, sleek new interface (though personally I could do without the gadget bar) and better security. Is it flawless? Of course not, no OS is. I can't believe I'm actually defending Microsoft but most of the problems people have been having with Vista is due to third party vendors not having their stuff compatible even after over a year and a half since release AND they got the code a year before release! I work on Vista and Xp machines 5 days a week and Vista is easier to diagnose and repair for OS related issues.
