Build msleeper a new computer, win some crap
Quote from msleeper on January 7, 2008, 11:26 pmOkay, well it's about time for me to have a new gaming/3D design computer, but considering my life pretty much revolves around computers and hardware, I kind of don't care about looking for stuff! So, anyone who can provide me with the following components for the lowest price, wins! *
- Motherboard (SATA support)
- Processor (64bit preferred)
- RAM (2gb minimum, the more the better)
- Video Card (Must support Dual Monitors)
I already have a case in mind, a 600w power supply, and I have drives coming out the wazoo, so I don't need any of those. I think that's it! Let the games begin.
* I have no idea what prize you are going to get. Maybe a 24 hour ban.
Updated because Lorithad thinks he's funny!

As for the prize, I'm not interested in a 24 hour ban. Or any ban of any length of time. Read the fine print people.
Also, don't edit my posts, you cheese eating surrender monkey.

Oh, and you neglected to include a power supply. But sometimes that comes with the case, which you already mentioned. Either way, i'd suggest a 350w PS at least. 400w to be on the safe side.
Also, this is a piece of crap. But it's what you get when you ask for the lowest price.

Ewe Fuck AMD, Intel is way better, and also its not about the price too, but its about being able to upgrade in well within the Future.
He needs something powerful and good.

Everything on there has upgradability, and is pretty damn good on it's own. You've got some of the fastest ram out there without jumping to DDR3, you've got future SLI compatability, you've got an LGA 775 motherboard that supports quad cores in the event you ever want to upgrade to that (Although the preformance boost at the moment isn't really worth it right now). And while I know you said you have drives coming out the wazoo, You should really consider something like this to put your OS on:
SUPER TALENT FSD32GB25M 2.5" 32GB SATA Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820609262
$489.99It may not be something you want to do now, as they're so expensive, but there's a definate preformance boost with a solid state drive. I know my next build will be including one, though that's not for another 3 or 4 months(I hope).

Quote from Adair on January 11, 2008, 10:26 amI'm not adding suggested products, but I have two cents to throw in:
I agree with Lorithad, with the OS and programs currently available a quad-core processor doesn't provide enough performance gain to be worth the extra money. An Intel Core 2 Duo is the way to go for now, but getting a Mobo with quad-core support is not a bad idea.
If you're into over clocking, you could get some 800MHz RAM with low CAS timings and get a very decent over clock out of it and save some money. Of coarse, if you are into over clocking you probably already knew that.
And lastly, reading the first few reviews on that Solid State HD, those people did not seem happy with the product.
