Companion cube?
Quote from nibbler234 on October 4, 2008, 7:50 pmHey, can anyone tell me how to make my own companion cube? I want it to be about this size.

I also want it to sit in my room. This one looks really nice, and the companion cube plushies are sold out. Can anyone help me make a life sized companion cube for a decoration? I don't want to wear it though...

Anyways, a quick Google search came up with some promising results.
Personally, if (1) your sister is nuts for Portal and (2) you're a complete cheapass and (3) forgot it was her birthday until about 2 hours before you're supposed to meet for birthday dinner and (4) you are at work and only have work supplies on hand, then the fold-your-own paper-craft cube works out pretty well. Office printer + office scissors + office tape = win.

I made my WCC out of paper. But it was a lot of trouble increasing the size of the pieces using MS Paint and Word. Since my printer can only do 8.5x11 paper (no other sizes ), the biggest I could make my Aperture Science Lightweight Companion Cube was 3x3x3 (including the corners, which I had to tape from the inside).
Other Portal papercrafts I've done are the security camera (actually turned out great, except it can't be mounted on a wall) and a mini Turret (doors keep falling; stupid sticky tape...). I was considering making the cake, and I have been looking all over the place for an ASHPD model (preferrably life-size or at least close to it)...

Time out for a second. That wasn't supposed to happen.
