Quote from jamesf141 on June 23, 2011, 1:14 pmHi, I'm jamesf141, and I'm a UK starter mapper. I've only released one map for Portal 2, which I entered into the Summer Mapping Initiative, and have since been working on a short co-op map. Uhm... I like doing strange things with lighting and textures for atmosphere? That's about all that makes me stand out... and not even that much

Quote from Rubrica on July 2, 2011, 2:33 pmSo, hi! I'm Rubrica, as evident. I joined to post a question about something, but I thought while I was here I might as well contribute. I've been a Portal fan ever since it's inception and own both games, and I'm currently in the process of creating my first map for any game, ever. I'm a real perfectionist (misaligned textures make me want to shoot myself, even in Valve's own maps) so you might not see it for a while, but I think it should be worth the wait. Quick personality rundown; I'm annoyingly chirpy, inexperienced and not at too clever (though far too loquacious) so go easy on me, m'kay?

Quote from shawy89 on July 3, 2011, 2:27 pmHello, my name is Shawy, I'm from Scotland. I absolutely love Portal 2 and after finishing the story and the co-op maps by Valve I felt like I needed more! I'm actually primarily a PS3 gamer, but I used my free code to download Portal 2 on Steam and then found this wonderful website filled with some truly awesome custom maps.
Been playing quite a few single player, as well as a few co-op maps from this website and I'm loving them. I'd have to say the best I've played was a co-op map called 'Fast Bridge', and as for single player, I do have to agree with the contest - 'Patent Pending' was simply amazing!
I espically like that custom maps are generally far more difficult than the offical maps, which is great as I like a good challenge.
I don't plan on making any maps, as I would fail horribly, but a huge thank you to everyone that makes them, keep them coming!
Shawy.

Well, given that I'm a moderator I suppose I should formally introduce myself. My pseudonym's WinstonSmith (taken from one of my three favorite books of all time, George Orwell's classic 1984), and I'm been working with Source development since shortly after I purchased Portal in early 2008. I also do a bit of mapping for HL2 (mainly Ep2). Outside of the Source engine, I'm a general computer enthusiast; I'm learning C++, working on putting up my own website (moving it to a new host, the link in my signature should change soon), and working on improving my Linux and penetration testing skills. Outside of the soft glow of my laptop screen, I enjoy reading and playing classical piano.
Please feel free to contact me for more or less any reason; I can be reached through Steam (I'm not online too often, though) or a private message through TWP or any of the other various sites of which I am a member.

Quote from Another Bad Pun on July 5, 2011, 9:36 pmI probably need to introduce myself. But since I'm feeling lazy, I'll let this old thread do the talking.
