[FIXED] Importing Models
Quote from juniverse on May 31, 2015, 9:42 pmHi. I need help getting a non Portal 2 model to show up in hammer. I'm planning on using the soda machine from Black Mesa. I've gotten the custom textures in, but they don't show up on the model.
The model's collision model does show up though. Any help would be appreciated.

Quote from TeamSpen210 on May 31, 2015, 10:27 pmIn the original game, load up the model viewer program and load in the model. On the materials tab there'll be a list of all the materials the model uses, which you'll need to copy over (plus all the vtf files, which usually have similar names). They will need to have the same paths. You might want though to use Mecha the Slag's MDL Hexer to change the material paths, so they can be in a more convenient location.

Quote from CamBen on June 1, 2015, 10:21 amYes, that is your problem. All materials go in a path like: materials/models/otherfolders/
All models go in a path like models/otherfolders/Do what teamspen said and you should be fine.

Quote from juniverse on June 1, 2015, 5:31 pmI've done all that, and I still get the same results. The model itself is invisible, but its collision model is there.
The paths are the same and I used the mdlhexer. I have no idea how all these other modders did it.

Quote from juniverse on June 1, 2015, 5:53 pmI may have solved my own problem: There's no need to change the path in the first place.
I'm going to try just dragging the props_blackmesa folders with that model into the materials and model folders
When valve was putting hl2 models into portal 2, they didn't change the names of the folders either.
