Yeah you're fine with all that, there shouldn't be much of a problem.

thats strange, its still not working, the first time I used hammer it worked perfectly, then maybe the 4th time i tried using it problems started appearing.

Try re-installing steam, it worked for me when strange errors came at trying to start SDK

Not thinking without portals at the very least...
