And I just make my glados voices with an AT&T text to speech program
AT&T Labs Text-To-Speech FAQ wrote:
Audio files produced on our site are intended only for private, non-commercial use. This is not legal advice (hey, we're researchers) but here are some scenarios. A class project is probably OK. Bugging your friends is probably OK (with us). The common thread here is temporary use with a very small distribution.

Any use that involves wide distribution or long lifetime is probably not OK, whether or not it is commercial. Audio clips used in songs, videos or game levels cannot be made publicly available on the internet. Building or prototyping a software package using our audio rather than recording your own prompts is not OK.

We thought about this some time ago, and it was pointed out that the rules of the service don't think that's kosher. Sorry.

And are you into sound recording profesionally? 'Cause melodyne alone costs alot of money...

Yes, I'm a professional music producer and audio engineer. I've been doing this since 1997 and have worked on several indie films, promo DVD's and stuff. No big-name projects yet though.

Also, might I ask you what pitch constraints you use to get the glados voice so good?

It's all written above in my last post. :)

Zero Pitch drift and 100% pitch correction for a super-flat pitch.

- That's also the answer to this question too:

Please show me how to do the GLaDOS voice in the form of ohno2.wav. Please?

It's the same technique - just read that last post of mine. If there's any inconsistency it's due to the fact that I'm not talking in my natural voice when recording. It makes it kind of difficult to get it the same every time.

hi hamster! your voiceovers are great :-)

i noticed you do have a bit of popping, so i guess your windscreen isn't doing enough... i would suggest that you put the mic diagnally off center from your mouth, so the bursts of air that come out when you say "P" do not hit the mic or the windscreen, but go harmlessly into the air next to the mic. you should notice a huge difference.

maybe you can make a simple script for audacity users (or any of the popular sourceforge sound editor programs) so they can take a voice, and actually get a glados version out of it. although to be honest i could get very used to your version...

I'm up for coop games & beta testing your maps...

Sadly Audacity appears to completely lack pitch modulation or formant altering tools.

What "addon types"? If you can find an Audacity addon that does it, wohoo! But I haven't been able to.

(That is, I can't find either LADSPA or VST plugins that fit the bill. Yet.)

I will try to make my own voices based on the melodyne tutorial. However my english pronunciation is not perfect, and only got a very poo microphone, I'll see what can I do, and will post the results.
If it will be acceptable, will change my green level hints into speeches. :)
And finally I will introduce my long-waited cube-replacement. My english grammar also need some polishing, so can somebody check these sentences and correct them if they have any syntax error?:

"Due to logistics problem, your companion cube is currently not available. However we prepared a temporary new partner for you. Please take care of the super intelligent super friendly portable lightened companion toilet."
(a toilet will fall from the boxdropper before the last word)

Some other phrase:
"Please keep in mind, that the companion toilet has no internal portals, so anything goes in stays in. To prevent it to became a weighted companion, please use it with moderation."

"The companion toilet cannot speak, however it can take your crap."

"The companion toiled dont give a shit. You do."

"Your faithful companion toilet was called back for immediate maintenance. Please place it to the companion transporter platform."

"Are you tired? Share yourself with the toilet"

"The companion toilet don't hate you. It only hates Aperture Bean conserves."

"Have you ever thought about what these storage cubes store?"
And yes, I know it doesnt suit the "portal" universe, but I want to make my map series a bit different and entertaining rather than serious. With other internal jokes and situations too
But first I must solve the noise reduction/filter problem....

"To prevent it from becoming a weighted companion toilet, please use it with moderation."

"The companion toilet does not give a shit. You do."

"The companion toilet does not hate you. It only hates Aperture Bean conserves."

I would recommend adding static or voice distortions over the expletives, both to make the whole a little less "ugh"-y and for added humor.

I'm looking forward to the Aperture Science Super Intelligent Super Friendly Portable Lightened Companion Toilet (Aperture Science SISFPLCT) level!

Just don't make me incinerate my faithful companion toilet, please!!
