Glass texture is too bright...

So I'm using the "glasswindow_frosted_002" texture for a glass divider in my Portal mod, but it's showing up waaaay too bright, as you can see in this screenshot...

Is there any way to decrease this and make it look more like natural glass?

Thanks,

Firstly, you need to put lights in your map. Without lights, everything will be evenly lit, which means that it will be brighter than usual.

Thanks! I'll test that out as soon as Trine is done downloading :)

You also probably want to add at least 1 cubemap, or else the glass may (and probably will) look weird. And definitely won't be reflective.

Yes, I added a cubemap already thinking it would fix the glass, but it didn't... However, I just added a light and it cleared up the issue. Thanks for the help!

Just for clarification, even if you place an env_cubemap in a map you have to enter the console command "buildcubemaps" (without the quotes) before the reflections will work properly.

Yup, I did that too :) Thanks for making sure though. Now the trick is thinking of interesting puzzles :D
