Hammer crashes after 1 minute [SOLVED]
Quote from opticalprocessor on May 2, 2014, 6:42 amHey all!
Whenever I try to use Hammer after 1 minute or so after the maps been loaded, Hammer crashes.
It's really pissing me off because I can't find a single reason why it would be happening.
List of things I tried already:
- Decreasing back clipping and model distance
- Updating video drivers
- Turning off my antivirusPlease, if anyone can help with this please let me know!

- Go to your steam Library (All Games) > Portal2 > Right click > Properties > Local Files > Verify cache of local files
(wait until it finishes)
- Go to your steam Library (All Tools) > P2 authoring tools > Right click > Properties > Local Files > Verify cache of local files
Does it crash only with 1 map? have you tried loading a different one?

Quote from FelixGriffin on May 2, 2014, 8:21 amHammer just does this sometimes. As far as I can tell it has a big memory leak, so you effectively have a certain amount of time from when you start it up before it dies. The texture browser and model viewer make it worse, try not to use them.

The more you give, the less appreciated it will be received.

Quote from opticalprocessor on May 2, 2014, 11:18 pmI still don't think you understand what is actually happening.
Hammer shouldn't crash with no programs open and a empty map.
I have at least 8GB avaliable so it can't be a lack of ram.

Quote from opticalprocessor on May 3, 2014, 12:33 amIt fixed itself.
I assume it to do with deleting the src maps folder.
I just had to cycle through each map to confirm to Hammer that they are deleted.
