Help with lighting?

Hi all,

I'm trying out Portal mapping after doing quite a bit with TF2, so I'm already familiar with Hammer, and for the most part, it's going pretty smoothly: I've gotten prefabs working for all of the common Portal entities...

...but I can't for the life of me get my lighting working right. I've followed lighting tutorials to the word, and while I'm good with observation room lighting, the recessed wall lighting is giving me a lot of trouble. I've realized that lowering the texture scale will make the recessed lighting a lot brighter, but it doesn't change the spacing of the lighted areas, and currently it seems that there is way too much space between lighted patches. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

I attached my bsp, so if any of you mapping pros could figure out what I'm doing wrong with my lights, that would be great. Thanks!

Can you post a screenshot? I'm too lazy to open up portal.

I don't know if this is your problem, but if there is a leak in the map, the lighting usually fucks up. Check if you have a leak, and try fixing it.

When you noclip out of a leaked map, it isn't just the blackness of a regular map's OOB.

EDIT: Your map definitely does leak.

Lo and behold, I fix the leak and magically my lighting is perfect. Many thanks for catching that!
