Light problem & prop_static
Quote from Stylus on May 7, 2011, 7:33 amHey there.
I've been trying to figure out the cause of the problem on my own. even searched the forums but couldn't find the solution.Well the problems is that when i move the lights move "with". so when i go behind the corner they "shut down". and in the begging of maping this problem didn't occur but now it's bugging me so much i've spent most of the time just trying to fix it. i even deleted all the light sources i made. and tried doing it again..but the problem didn't go away.
At the moment i'm using prop_static for glass_lightcover.mdl, light_panel on the blocks and light object.
i wish i knew what the problem was as i could've been done with the mapping already as i spent most of the time trying to get rid of this problem.
also i have a question about prop_static. i understand it's used as a model and it can't be moved or animated so that's what i want. and for instance if i debris_dest_phys_02_tiles_moss.mdl which is just bunch of stuff laying down it works normaly. but if i use a motel desk but the problem is it doesn't act as a solid model and i can walk trough it.
and if i use bounding box on a desk it just takes too much space

as for the desk though you can place a brush where the desk is with the clip texture on it and that ought to work... I think.

As for light..basically you when i move the light changed so that area that it's facing is dark but when i step close to it, it lightens the room normaly but it moves as i move.
