Messed up model browser for hammer (Portal 1)

[Show Image]
I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with the disgusting garbage in the picture above. Basically I want to fix it so it's light green/gray again because the black glitchy interface just randomly appeared after I restarted hammer one time; I hadn't even changed any settings!

The black interface is near impossible to work with, especially with partially translucent models, which show up 'ghosted' or hardly visible at all. I tried getting the sourcescheme.res file from the hl2 and portal 2 files to fix it, but neither worked.

Any insight to this would be great because i've found threads like this online but in every case it wasn't solved or they solved it and didn't post the solution.

I honestly don't really know much about the model browser. But i have had a problem like that in Portal 2 Hammer. And i reinstalled the authoring tools and it worked. I don't know if this will solve your problem but it worked for me :)

I cant really do that because portal 1 doesn't really have authoring tools, I just use the hammer.exe in the bin folder

Oh, i'm sorry i kind of forgot that :P. Maybe try verifying integrity of game cache for Portal 1. If worst comes to worst, try reinstalling Portal 1. Hope this works :)
