Moving platform w/ stops

Page 1 of 2Next

Hi,
I want to make a moving platform that loops, but also stops for X seconds at certain points along the train.

I have a func_tracktrain set to loop on a series of path_tracks but I don't know how to make a stop. Anyone know a good method?

Did some digging and found it myself.

Set two outputs on the path_track you want as a stop:

OnPass > !activator > SetSpeed > 0 > 0.00
OnPass > !activator > SetSpeed > x > y

x = the speed you want the train to move at after the stop
y = the time in seconds you want the stop to last

classic.

Heh Basically when I come across a problem I'll first search for the answer in the forum. If it's not there I'll post a question while I do some work on it myself. If I find the solution, great! if not, maybe someone has replied already.

and I figure it's polite/nice to reply to my own problem even though I obviously don't need it anymore. Keeps others from wasting time trying to help me out, and will educate more people who may search for the same issue.

Lol. I didn't even take the time to look further down the page, and posted this not knowing that MrTwoVideoCards did this... already...
W/E! MY OPINION REMAINS THE SAME!!

I would like to apologize for my previous post which earned me a 60 minute ban.
It was a poor attempt at a joke, and I was trying to point out that girls play video games too, but after reading the post I realize it sounded rather sexist.
Again, I apologize.

Searching for answers yourself is always the right thing to do. I always search for answers before posting a question.
