Moving Platforms

Does anyone know how to make vertical moving platforms like those seen in Test Chamber 15?
I can't figure it out and the FAQ on the Wiki just says to ask on the forums.

Nodraw func_tracktrain with a model parented to it.

How would I make the support? Prop_dynamic? Wouldn't it need to shrink and expanded as the platform gets lower and higher?

Actually I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about the platforms that move along a path. For what you are doing you should use just a func_door.

Ok thanks. I have one more question. How do you make the poison goo? I made a trigger_hurt, but I'm not sure how to make the visible part.
