Old tutorials?
Hello all,
I'm a newbie, brand new to working with portal maps. I'd like to start learning to use the development tools to create puzzles for portal 2 and understand that there are a lot of tutorials out there. However, I'm wondering if tutorials for building portal 1 maps still apply to building portal 2 maps. If not, does anyone know a good source of information for building portal 2 maps?

The basics to working with Hammer don't really change from game to game. The tools work the same way, the fundamentals are still the same, and so on. Making maps for Portal 1 would only help you in the sense that you would gain experience working with Hammer.
If you are completely new to Hammer and have never made a map before, I would suggest looking at this thread, and then reading all of the "Beginner" tutorials here.
