Overlays and entities

I have a brush with a portal-able surface. It has an a sign overlay on it. I want to tie the brush to a func_brush or a func_door entity. But when I tie the brush to an entity, the overlay disappears. It doesn't show when I run my map.

Ideas?

So THAT'S how you do that!

Have you tried applying the overlay after tying the brush to an enitity?

Yeah, I did. It didn't appear to have any affect.

I don't think it's possible to place an overlay on some of the "dynamic" brush entities, like func_door.

Rats. Thanks for the info. I'm going to have to rethink some elements in my map.

Try using a decal instead of an overlay.

or maybe make the brush you want to apply it to the info_overlay's parent? it IS an entity, so you can set its parent. Dunno if it works, but I think it's wort trying.

"Duct Tape is the answer."

As far as I know, there is no solution.
But if there's one, I'd like to hear about it since I'm using hacks for 3 years now.
