I see. Another idea would be to form the lit-up logo out of phosphorescent materials, so that, in addition to being illuminated while the computer is on, it slowly fades to dark after it's shut off. Bonus points when moving laptop from bright room to dark room. Only problem is you're stuck with a greenish color.

Or there is flat lights that you could use, lemme see if I can find them...
Easily fit under the case, and run with pretty low battery power. It's a bit expensive though.
