Then verify your game cache and let it put them back. Install any new portal 2 updates it tries to. Then, put the bin fix back in, excluding the folders directly at the top. I had to do a ton of experimenting to, but eventually I got it working, so this may or may not work for you.You forgot the pinch of salt over your left shoulder part Anyways thanks a lot! Perhaps that's a good Omen at least for me, since I better should be learning...

Quote from FelixGriffin on June 18, 2014, 8:49 amIf CamBen's fix doesn't work, you can do it manually: install the patch, rename your bin folder to bin_, validate (creating a new bin folder). Then switch between the bin folders to use Hammer and Portal.

Quote from CamBen on June 18, 2014, 1:13 pmYes, works on 64 amd 32, at least for me it did, since i tested on win xp and win 8. For people who have their steam games under program files and not (x86), this download may require you to create a new directory for portal 2 under program files (x86) that includes this bind folder and the default game info.txt in the corresponding layout in order to start hammer and switch the settings back to your defaults using the "options" menu under tools.

Quote from CamBen on June 18, 2014, 5:25 pmGreat. Just great. I've fixed portal 2 and the authoring tools, but now my mod is broken, and crashes on startup. I really can't win at this can I?
