Prop Lighting problems

I'm trying to create a map that uses darkness to it's advantage. Unfortunately, there are a couple of props that seem to be ignoring the lighting of the chamber.Does anyone know why some props would ignore lighting? One of these props is the bed body reference model, and the other is the bottom of the cieling light model.

Some materials have the selfillum property (self-illumination), which makes them always appear bright. This is used for things like light bulbs, indicator strips, etc. The only way to fix this is to modify the model to use a different material. Have you checked the model to see if it has an off skin? Most of the light models have an off version. With the bed model, have you tried using an info_lighting to change the lighting origin? It could help.
