Quote from toncica on July 21, 2014, 7:36 amA complex puzzle for experienced players. No advanced techniques or special skills needed. I put Advanced in the title to keep beginners from trying.

Quote from RogerL on July 24, 2014, 12:28 amtoncica, I'm a bit confused about your map. There is a pedestal button under a panel, but there is no indication of what makes it available to use. I've tried several laser catchers and buttons, but nothing seems to make it appear. Is this something that just happens by magic or what?

Quote from toncica on July 24, 2014, 6:13 pmThe pedestal button isn't needed right now, it exists because the player could find a way to trap himself in that area when he has the standard cube available (also conveniently linked to another item). When you arrive to pick up the standard cube the pedestal button is triggered.
So unless you noclip through the map the button will become available automatically.

Quote from toncica on July 24, 2014, 8:25 pmNever thought that would be cause for confusion. I could add a symbol that indicates how it becomes available but why were you even attracted to the button?

Quote from RogerL on July 25, 2014, 10:41 amBecause it was a known unknown. Before I try to solve a puzzle I like to gather as much information as possible. I could see the button under the panel and that it was attached to two timers and I wanted to know if they were delay timers or activation-length timers. And I wanted to know why the mapper (that is, you) made it inaccessible. I can assure you, my attraction for your button was purely platonic.

Quote from toncica on July 25, 2014, 11:39 amI'm relieved to hear that. That button is the youngest item on the map. I've tested signage for the button activation but that looked worse to me. It looks like it's a choice between having a confused player or having a potentially trapped player.
