I wouldn't make a contest map purely with this program, but I might like to use it to get puzzle ideas (which I'm not good at coming up with).

This is what i would love to use it for. I am just putting the finishing touches to a map i started 8 months ago. The first month i was flying, got 1 room done, was really pleased with the puzzle and the look of the room. After that i hit a brick wall, i could not come up with anything, lost interest and left it. Was going to make this my last map as i have real trouble in thinking up a good puzzle. This program would allow me to continue mapping, as i do love it. Do you have a release date.

Seems amazing it might reveal some concepts none have ever seen

I am currently working on a Portal 2 Map series 'Testing for life'

Re-bumping, would love to know if this has a projected release.

Bump,
Is this still a thing?

I have not been working on this for quite a while. But I would like to finish this project and release some nice working Java open source so that you guys can play with it. I plan to release it in February 2015. Don't expect any fancy user interface though, but there will be a decent documentation. The program will give you the map layout, but it will not generate a map file, mostly because that takes too much time to implement.

Huzzah! That's good to hear.

The development took more time than I expected. Just in case that there is still any interest:

I uploaded a new and much nicer generated single player chamber here:
http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=412567798

The generator software can be obtained here:
http://superiki.de/portal2/23mar2015/chambergen.jar
The generation process takes a few hours.

The source code can be found here:

The usability of this software is quite low and it would take much more time to write a proper documentation.

Hey, at least it works! I'm going to give this a try. Perhaps it's not perfect but a program that can build a logical, solvable test chamber is one step closer to building GLaDOS

It is not so easy to use. Were you able to let it run?
