[RELEASE] pesp - Party Escort Submission Position
Quote from jrlauer on November 29, 2008, 2:00 amI re-downloaded this map, I got it to work this time. I thought it was pretty good, but I couldn't figure out how to get across to the other side of the room where the floor and lower walls can hold a portal but the ceiling and upper walls as well as the floor on the other side can't hold a portal (the room with no button). The rest of it, I figured out.

Quote from elt on December 17, 2008, 3:56 amthis is an interesting map, but i have to agree with the above posters that a lot of the puzzles aren't very... portal-like. the unfinished room being the primary example. Pushing walls out of the way smacks of Wolfenstein 3D. I haven't reached the end yet, I'm a bit stuck in the area with the sentries behind the fence and the voice says to go left, and then 'sorry about that, the OTHER door' in the dead-end hallway. There's nowhere else to go that I can see, just a hall full of unopenable doors, the room with the shelves that had a sentry in it, and the room before that with the broken pneumatic tube... tried going in there but the cubes passing by kept killing me. or making me absolutely stuck.
I'd like to get on with the second map but i need to figure this one out first.
the next one is part 2? or episode 1? Come on, just because Half-Life can get away with such a wonky numbering system doesn't mean it's not confusing.
I think all maps downloaded from ThinkingWithPortals should have corresponding walkthroughs somewhere on the site. You people (as a group) come up with some really sadistic puzzles.

Quote from sbrown on December 17, 2008, 3:58 pmIt isn't that tough. When you go into the area, where the guy says sorry, the other door, go to the right. There is a change level in that L shaped room

Quote from elt on December 17, 2008, 5:55 pmHa. For some reason the change level wasn't working. I went back and forth through that hallway and even noclip'd around a bit before it finally tossed me to the next area.

change levels do not work in noclip mode.
Quote from elt on December 17, 2008, 9:55 pmi didn't activate noclip until after i ran through the whole place multiple times. I ran all over the place looking for a way out, up and down the hallway, got frustrated and activated noclip and zoomed around a bit.
The change level didn't kick in until i deactivated the noclip and ran through it again. Definitely a bug.

Quote from Mek on December 18, 2008, 11:21 amYeah, well, I had the level change problem too, used noclip as well but to no avail. I changed the map to the second bsp file manually but it was just a small area of the second map.
