[SOLVED] p2map_publish, can't post image
Quote from Konke on June 19, 2014, 7:06 amI'm having troubles posting the head images for my map with the p2map_publish tool. I get the following error message:
"Unable to parse preview image! Please check your file type and try again."
I've been working on my preview image in Photoshop but I saved it as a jpeg. Isn't it supposed to be jpeg?
Thanks in advance!

Quote from josepezdj on June 19, 2014, 7:20 amMaybe the reason is the size, not the format. I use to upload .JPG files without problems... I don't really know the max size or if dimensions must be a multiple of 1920x1080px or whatever, but normally I haven't got problems with uploading screenshots taken from the game for example, so try your image to be a multiple of 1920x1080 for example

Quote from Konke on June 19, 2014, 7:27 amYou'll have to excuse my lack of understanding english, but what do you mean by "multiple"? The resolution I use for the image is exactly 1920x1080, still getting the error. I also tried to change the resolution to 400x320 (which is very small) and it still didn't accept it. Could Photoshop have saved it in a special jpeg? Or am I missing something?

Quote from josepezdj on June 19, 2014, 7:55 amHmmm.... could it be the resolution maybe rather than the size? what resolution are you setting on PS? around 300ppi... or higher? Try different values.
I meant 'multiple' as in maths, 12 is multiple of 2 (I'm not sure either if I'm expressing it correctly, since I'm Spanish :p)

Quote from Konke on June 19, 2014, 8:07 amI tried to change the resolution to 555x312 since that is the exact resolution of a test image I posted a time ago. Sadly it didn't work either. I even tried to download the a random image from google (jpeg) to see if it worked but it didn't. So, no image works but the thumbnail image that I uploaded on a test map a while back. This is very strange.
Could this be a bug due to the latest update? The Hammer tool for Portal 2 is bugged, there's a recent thread about this. Perhaps Valve broke the p2map_publish tool aswell. Or does it work for you?
