[SP] Another 60 dollars
Quote from KyloX on May 13, 2014, 2:39 amWelcome to Aperture Science Enrichment Center and... thank you for participating in a cause of science and your beloved 60 dollars. But maybe you will be interested in another 60 dollars?
------------------------
First map of my series which I am hoping to continue, as well first underground map.
The map is a walk in a park with a puzzle in the end.The map needs some small fixes (mostly lighting, they aren't so much noticeable), but most of it is done and playable.
Feedback would be great with a happy smile and a spice of criticism.
Enjoy

Quote from neco on May 14, 2014, 11:54 amJust saw that you fixed the issues. Must have been blind when asking 'bout the panel. Everything works perfectly fine now. The only thing I don't get is why most mappers are paying so little attention to water/goo surfaces. I mean the scaling as well as that disgusting (imho)brownish colour/tint. A thin brush layer textured with blocklight does wonders. Tiling is normal for textures but looks weird on water/goo, I think.
Thanks for mapping! I give you a 4.8/5........rounds up to 5

I don't have a lot of knowledge about lighting as well it is hard to optimize it. I will give it a look about that. As well I had problems with fog, but now I know how to fix it, but... Probably gona update it next time (compile time takes quite a while when it is a huge map with loads of props). As well wanted to put some stuff to make it feel alive (time takes place before GLaDOS), but I need more ideas on that and find suitable sounds. To bad npc models don't work with Portal 2, though "thinking with time machine" somehow did it (but it is a mod after all).
Plus wanted to record my voice at places, but... not everyone has a beautiful voice or a great microphone...
