Suggestions for a Mappack I'm making
Quote from rokie24 on May 31, 2009, 2:18 pmHello, Rokie24 here. Havn't been on this site for almost a year now. But i'm making a portal mappack called "Companion Sphere Chambers" It is in ANOTHER enrichment center, Features a companion sphere (duh), Another GLaDOS (oh god, not another) but it's.. lets say not so evil, and.. thats all I got.
Now onto the subject. If anybody had any suggestions (For a storyline, a puzzle, an interesting/puzzling/challenging/fun twist etc.) Please feel free to post the here, but please remember, the storyline and puzzles rely heavily on the companion sphere. ThanksRokie24

I was thinking about doing it, but I do not have much mapping experience. Maybe you could bring my dream to life? xD

Quote from penapappa on June 2, 2009, 2:34 amThat sound such a brilliant idea! But only if it's high quality map, not like a crap like many newcomers map often is... Everybody start from "low", me too, but I trained and mapped a lot before releasing my first map

Everyone's first map looks terrible but that's why you don't release it or anything. If you can't learn from yourself, mapping will be a very hard thing to do.

Maybe one day I'll be good at mapping but I don't see it coming any time soon.

Quote from reepblue on June 2, 2009, 9:26 pmThat is why I never publicly released Blue Portals. (Portal Textures One) It did help a lot on mapping. Each map got better to edit and better frame rates. And lets not start with my very first map. That map had issues such as leaks, entity issues and all that crap that when someone first starts they hold their head.
So in the end, release mini updates if your unsure that a new puzzle element is a good idea or needs to be modified. post it here. Maybe one of us can think of ideas. And if you 'think' that a map is good, release a WIP version. That is a very good way of getting feedback.

The more you give, the less appreciated it will be received.
