Quote from pietuusi on July 13, 2014, 10:44 amHi. I'm new here so don't really know my way around here. The [newbie] thread was locked so thought of posting here. Would like to know why I can't download the map files directly from here as shown on various youtube videos? Every download link forwards me to steam and there is no section where I could download the files.

Quote from Another Bad Pun on July 13, 2014, 10:28 pmSo I was testing my tf2 map, and some play-testers found a way to build in the pit of the train god.
(A train is displayed in the hud instead of a standard fall damage image, which means that everyone knows of your great failure.)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRUl_juwFDA&feature=youtu.be

Quote from quaternary on July 29, 2014, 7:18 pmSkyboxes hate me today. First I got the paths wrong by trusting VTFEdit too much (it gave full paths, not relative paths). So I tried to fix the relative paths, but I got their origin wrong.
Later it worked, but all six sides were horizontally flipped :/ So I flipped them all, but the top side wasn't cooperating, and I ended up having to try all four orientations of it before it worked.

Quote from CamBen on August 9, 2014, 5:04 amSo today I was playing portal 1 again, and was messing around on testchamber 19. I portal-stood all the way thought the map without solving the chamber, horded every single physics object I could POSSIBLY ever have access to in the map. I portaled all of those to the incinerator "viewing platform" and then back into the test chamber. At least 50 pieces of random junk littered the floor, and I did this all without cheats.
Then, I turned on cheats and spawned 4 npc_citizens, which was because I wanted to vaporize one of them with the energyball that was left over from not solving the test initially, but then, in order, I spawned male_01 (Leon), male_06 (Henry), and male_07 (mike), and then finally male_09 (weird guy). I knew I couldn't possibly bear to kill Leon, Henry, or mike, cause they are the best male citizens, so I spawned another and it turned ou to be weird guy.
So, I directed him to stand directly in front of an energy ball, which he did reluctantly, and it took a few tries to hit him, but once it did, it basically bounced off him and proceeded to whack him in the face multiple times, him completely stone faced. So I tried a different approach.
I shot a portal under the energy ball and let it bounce around the room. Henry managed to get in the way, and he was knocked dead by the impact. I reloaded my game to a save from before I tried that. So I gave myself some weapons and tried to explode weird guy with some frag grenades. I lured him into a corner and trapped him there in the mound of physics objects that were still in the room, and put a grenade there. He ducked and covered, but was completely unhurt by the explosion.
Then, a few seconds later, weird guy ran over to the corner of the room backwards, tripped over a pc_case I had stolen from the labs in the bts area, and fell over and died. Way to go, buddy.
Tl;dr portal 1 is great at 2:00 at night
