Thank you to anyone still left here for making this game fun while it lasted.

Quote from josepezdj on December 30, 2014, 6:49 amYeah! Toaster, it looks very very well detailed, with just the perfect lighting, and puzzlewise it looks very interesting and promising!
Please (EVERYONE!) try to finish what you start! :p

You have been improving yourself very quickly, not only about the Hammer editor, but puzzlewise as well. To me, there's no need to move on to mapping for a different game, I think Portal2 is really complete and I enjoy every second I spend mapping and creating.
Whatever you do, cheers!

Quote from Dafflewoctor on December 30, 2014, 10:19 amThanks for the compliments. It's possible that I could finish at least that chamber because I don't want to see it wasted. Originally it was going to have 3-4 puzzles, but I remember I found a huge exploit in the puzzle that would require me to remake almost everything.

I mean, look at how fast chamber 14 can be solved with the floor portal in front of the victory lift.

Yes, that always happens. With Portal Stories we're currently finishing things up, and highly tested, polished levels still sometimes give new solutions, after being worked on for literally years. Sometimes you have to be realistic: Is it a problem that there is another solution, does that solution also make the player feel smart?
There are speedrunner solutions that require all kinds of mad skills normal players don't have. We feel that we do not need to 'fix' those solutions. Normal players won't even think of those kinds of solutions, whilst speedrunners can enjoy those kinds of solutions.
And the last thing: Sometimes the exploit can actually better than the puzzle itself. One of my favorite puzzles I ever made is completely based off an unintended solution to another map.
tl;dr: don't worry about unintended solutions, embrace them! As long as the player still feels smart about himself at the end of the level!
