Why are we getting off topic

hmm...no final boss...

well ofc there's sandbox games. But apart from those:

-games without fighting *usually* have no bosses. (example: Interactive Buddy, Dream Garden, etc.)

-most Puzzlers have no bosses either.

Actually, most puzzlers do have a "final puzzle" that usually includes the main antagonist being involved somehow. Example: Bowser - Tetris Attack, Crazy Guy - Myst 3.
I guess it depends on what puzzle games people play.

Crazy is as crazy does.

Threads don't stay on topic past three pages.

But unless your conflicting with the antagonist it's not really a boss, more like a final LEVEL (like you said) not BOSS.

example: you going through the antagonist's puzzle is NOT a boss. You solving puzzles to harm/weaken/destroy the antagonist IS a boss. The antagonist has to be on the short end of the stick at some point in order for it to be a "boss" IMO.

And yeah, going off-topic is more of an eventuality than a possibility.

What about Mario. Bowser is the main antagonist but you don't even meet or know he is behind everything until the very last level, and even then he is not very hard. Just jump over him and hit the lever for the bridge.

Nearly every game has some sort of boss or harder end level. (unless its solitaire)

My examples DO conflict with the antagonist. Death/defeat is a result of failing the puzzle.

Lemmings? Never heard of it. Is it any good?

BTW I am aware that not all puzzle games have antagonists, just most of the puzzle games I've played do.
