Weird Bug in Test Map

After finally getting the swarm sdk to compile and run portal 2 maps (the VDC article was amazing and thanks to sleeper for posting it up) I was messing around in one of the pre-made maps with all the entities in it.

After a little while something weird started happening. I don't know whether it was because I had gone in and changed ALL the textures to no draw and then only textured the necessary walls with dev_generic (mainly because once I looked at the map it would just lag me out from having none of the walls actually flush with each other AND a lot of things were just sticking out of the map with a huge box around it to prevent leaks) or if something else was going on but here is a link to the video I made once it started happening.

Hope you find it funny because I do!

:wut:

Does this happen every time you load the map, or did you some how manage to do this once and can't reproduce it?

Yea, I explain it in the video and I still haven't been able to reproduce it. Somehow, as I was falling through the floor and then back down through the ceiling (basically full speed free falling) I grabbed a box and when I let go if it trying to fling it I noticed a shit load of orange paint flying everywhere. When I went to the buttons the orange didn't work anymore but I turned around and the box was now launching it everywhere.

I was so flabber gasted and having the box literally bug out and bounce off my head a couple minutes later didn't help at all. I was literally like the picture you just posted...

On a side note, it made me think of an awesome "kill your friend" mod where you would need to use speed and jump paint to make them fly to there death. rofl.

I'm assuming you changed things, I can't for the life of me think why changing textures to nodraw would remotely produce this result. And for the record, yeah you shouldn't have nodraw on a surface the player can see.

Right, it was just so I could get the map to run smoother. I didn't mind the fact that it was going to bug, but trying to navigate it in hammer was a pain in the arse. I didn't change ANYTHING other then textures I assure you.

Unless you need to have a specific texture for the paint mechanisms then, sure, changing the textures would have done this but after seeing this I haven't had a chance to see for sure. I just thought it was interesting.

How would an entity be moved to another object in a map? I didn't even think you could set paint to just fly out continuously like that (point of my amazement in fact).
