where is the download area?

Hello, can anyone say , where the download area of the page ThinkingWithPortals.com remained, or there is no area to maps or high to load down . perhaps i am too dumb, i can find anything here.

We've had quite a bit of server troubles since the move over and I have been working them out slowly. I will be sure to add links to the old download area ASAP. Sorry for the delays.

Hello! Instead of making a new topic, I decided to reply to this thread because I think it's connected. I'm trying to download an example map from the Wiki, and it simply leads to the forums. This is part of the download area problems, correct?

If possible, if anyone has the "Door and Button" tutorial map, could you please share a working download link with me while the download area is down? It would be much appreciated!

Yes, the problems are connected.

If I'm not mistaken, maps and related content were handled by an extension of the forum software we were using a while back (before the upgrade to phpBB3).

If you need a physical example of the door and button mechanic, the original VMF for testchamber 09 is included as part of the source SDK and can be found here:

Awesome, thank you very much for your help! I was able to complete the tutorial myself, with no errors, or rather, to a functioning state... and doing so helped teach me a lot more about using Hammer than I would have if I had just looked at the map as a reference!

Thanks again!

There appear to be some great maps here, but I am thinking this website is moribund?

To some extent. When portal 2 is released we should see an increase in activity again

Hopefully so.
