I sincerely hope that I never understand the fascination people have with WOW, everyone I know who plays it has become completely addicted.

Quote from Cooper on March 30, 2008, 6:57 amWilliam Shatner scares me.
About 2 years ago, a huge WoW plague swept across my school, and pretty much everyone with enough money and a computer was playing it. I was lucky enough to not have enough money or a computer good enough to play it on.
Some people who were initially addicted managed to stop playing, while others who scorned the game were turned into players themselves (I'm looking at you, Phillip "the fatty" Bushnell).
Anyways, WoW is now dead at my school. Game over, Blizzard.

Quote from Ricotez on March 30, 2008, 12:47 pmI've started playing WoW recently, and I must say it gains steam a bit slow. After 2 hours of playing on a day I already grow bored and switch off. I really don't understand how there can be people playing the game all day long, 2 hours a day is plenty for me. Maybe it's just because I'm only lvl 16 so far...
However, I've already noticed the "addicting"-flavour of the game. It's hard to not constantly think about it when you're not playing it.

Quote from Hober on March 31, 2008, 1:50 amI spent my entire summer playing WoW, for my job. ( http://www.azerothadvisor.com )
I was spitballing on this subject with some of my mates this weekend (Full Disclosure: The four of us played together in WoW for two years or so) and we came up with one major thing: not having to re-learn the game. Once you play WoW long enough, you know it. There's no learning curve any more. That's so nice. You know why that guy's weapon glows purple or what you need to do to become keyed for Ghazalbon's Chateau.
Also, being low level is pretty pants. Once you start getting some really sweet abilities and some really sweet gear, it gets better. That said, if it's not your tea, it's not your tea.

Quote from Ricotez on March 31, 2008, 11:40 amYeah, I know the curve that most MMORPGs feature. I've played a couple, RuneScape and Guild Wars, and I know you must give it some time to really get into the interesting part. I've played a 10-day-trial and have bought the retail game, so I'm now playing my free month. After this month I will probably have a better opinion about it, and also know wheter I'm gonna buy a new play-time card or stick to Guild Wars.
