[WIP & Testing] Test 20
Quote from msleeper on November 10, 2007, 1:30 pmThat's a shame, I love Test 20. We'll obviously be having them monthly, so when you want to get back in the game we'll be here.

Quote from Player1 on November 10, 2007, 10:58 pmSomehow I missed this until now. I'm very impressed. Really cool complexity and very satisfying to beat. My only gripe would be that there are some distinctly metal-looking surfaces that can be put portals on (and that you need to put portals on). Maybe replace those with concrete?
As for the contest this could easily qualify if you add a final step where you have to retreive your cube and incinerate it to be honest...

Quote from Irish Taxi Driver on January 13, 2008, 11:10 pmBumping this because I realized I never officially released the map, so here you go:

I've been in a TF2 mapping phase for a while, but I've got test21 planned out, and just have to map it. I chose to let it simmer for a little while so I could keep it from being spontaneous like test20. I am looking to do an advanced version of test20.

Quote from Leck on January 14, 2008, 12:38 amOkay, the first thing I noticed is that its very very bright, almost a bit hard to see at times.
The indicator lights near the button that opens the box tube at the top don't change, only the cross/tick sign changes
Also, there is a grey texture that doesn't allow portals but it looks just like another grey texture that does allow portals, which makes it very confusing.
Overall its a fun, but confusing map I can't work out how to get to button 2...
[edit] Scratch that, I finished it. Yay

No ones ever complained about the lighting before.
Never figured this out. Maybe someone did while I was off TF2 mapping.

Irish Taxi Driver wrote:You need to be more descriptive than this. You know the shiny silver/grey "escape" panels inside the caged areas that you can only access once you're inside? Well several of the walls/ceilings of the cages have a very similar texture, but it's not portalable.

Quote from Irish Taxi Driver on June 6, 2008, 10:29 pmHi There.
I recently came back to test 20 and started work on it again.

I've made quite a few changes, and I'm still not done yet. The only thing I know of now is that the last indicator light string does not work, which has been fixed in the version I have now, but it's pending because I'm waiting to see if there are more problems to fix.
I've tried a new solution for the glass as well, what do you think?
EDIT: Also, Test 21 is in production. Its being currently designed as three puzzles wrapped in one.
