Note: I have never used the Hammer Editor in my life, so please be warned that the below post will be some what "nooby".

I just downloaded the Valve Hammer Editor, but before I can begin playing around in it, it asks me to fill out Game Configuration settings and Textures. Just for the run-of-the-mill settings, what do I have to enter into the text box? Any help will be highly appreciated.

I think you downloaded the editor from the internet instead of Steam.
Am I wrong ?

That would probably be it. I forgot you can get it from Steam. My bad.

Nice avatar. How did you make the stick figure? Sounds like a really dumb question but I really don't know how to use photoshop that much.

Looks like a combination of the Line object with the paint brush to round the edges.

Korjagun made that avatar and a few others, you can use them from the Gallery.
