Can somebody please help me with my lighting?

Every time I add a light recesses into my map it looks ugly and doesn't spread out.

I added the cool light texture inside but it doesn't show up. I also added the overlay light gradient but that doesn't show up. Can somebody give me some suggestions or post a tutorial? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much! It turns out that the prop_doors do not completely connect at the center circle, and it leaked there. I had the end in a void, because the rest of the map wasn't made.
