A lot of the maps i downloaded came in the format of a BPS file. How do i get them to run? I tried putting the file under ...(username)/portal/maps but there is no option to run them.

Thank you.

you need to press options i think its called in steam when rightclicking on "portal" then type in "-console" then when you start the game type in console: map MAPNAMEHERE

Another way is from the Portal main menu click options, the the keyboard tab then click the advanced button. Check "Enable Developer Console". Press the "~" key to pull up the console then type: map MAPNAME to launch the map.

I had the same problem, then I tried that console thing, but it says:

Quote:
] map aperture_test_0
CModelLoader::Map_IsValid: No such map 'maps/aperture_test_0.bsp'
map load failed: aperture_test_0 not found or invalid

I have saved the BSP files to C/program files/steam/steammaps/atsu/portal

Whats wrong?

It could be: 1. the bsp is in the wrong place or
2.
it is the first time you compiled
there is a leak
Hammer never made the bsp fileI'm just saying that these are possibilities.

Okay.. that's weird.
Only custom mappack that has worked is PKM4. That is in C/Program files/steam/steammaps/atsu/portal/portal/maps
:s

I'll try to move those others there
