In the picture I see you've got white ceiling lighting which is different to the standard blue. What texture light did you use for this?

I have no idea what texture it is in that shot, its missing the overlay from the original maps and I was playing with the texture so much to get it to work properly I never managed it unfortunatly.

That's actually the concrete ceiling texture for portal, you'll see it everywhere in the game.

Thanks fory you're enthusiasm kinky, I've learnt something from you....

Right, lets do this!

I'll have far more time in a week from now but I want to get this out before I change my mind.

I'm going to make TS13 a proper team effort. I'll need people to help with each part and I'll dish out work appropriately.
I entered into talks with mechtroid, who I believe goes by 'username' on the forum and we outlined a new plot for TS#13 (see the poll in the mapping thread) which I'm not sure if we'll use it or not, if we do most of my maps will have to be scrapped in favour of new ones, either idea we choose will require custom assets like models and to a lesser extent textures.
If this goes ahead and we end up with a good team of people working on it I'll talk with msleeper about a TS#13 section of the forum visible only to those involved.

I know I've had lots of interest in testing, but now I'm asking for proper interest in help, anyone who has any skills in: Mapping, modeling, texture creation.. please speak up if you seriously want to be a part of this, I think voice acting and sound work will come much later in the process (This isn't going to be nearly as organised as other mods like Black Mesa!)

right, I'm off to make that storyline poll now...

I would like to offer my services, but I believe that there are better people for the job here and I probably would only be of help in the voice acting and basic maping. But the offer's out there if you don't get enough people.

Well, in my MALCom-thread you have already heard how much Hurricaaane could make my voice sound like GLaDOS. I have a slight robot voice naturally, and though I'm male, I think I could be of assistance in recording lines of speech. The miracles you can do with sound manipulation today...

I think it would probably be very wise to advertise this on modb eventually, get some interest from people there. We'll have a proper team in no time.

^got that saved at a stupidly high resolution so it can be resized to just about anything^
oh, the forum has gone and shrunk it.... oh well it's sharp in reality, honest

i would love to help map some areas, i'm a bit of a perfectionist so i'll pick at all the details but i'm not sure if i have the right ability level yet.

There seem to be plenty of people willing to help, maybe a contest to find the best ones

Edit: I just noticed, but what happen to the month of may? Seems to be a little gap in this thread...

how did you guess?

actually, its not. I traced the logo in flash then scaled it to many hundreds of pixels then saved it as an image so I could edit it in PS (the text is vector obviously untill I rasterise it to save it). if there is a way to get vectors from flash into PS and still be vectors? if so that would be really helpfull rather than having an image thats several thousand tall

Not too big, just not interesting enough, besides its a play once only type thing, tf2 is a play over and over type of thing.

That sentence was designed to piss me off wasn't it.

unfinished with pics of sexy new areas in the next version
NB: all areas are out of date screenshots and now look better (not in any public download yet)

nope. just messing with you (and reference some of our older convo.s)

but that map looks good , and i d/l'd the other one. so we'll check it out.

well although this is true. its not 100% true for either type of map. MOST portal maps are one play/beat/never play again. the only way to get the proper type of acclaim AND to have your map played more than once is the way mazk1985 does it. when he releases a map (or set of maps) he ALSO release an advanced chamber version of them, and a complete (time/step/portal) challenge for the map. i've played his maps over and over and over (till i finally beat them) But tf2 maps have their down side too. because alot of people/servers only want maps that people already know and so won't/aren't willing to take the plunge to try new maps.

maybe you should roll over to f7 and see if they would want to rotate your map
