First time, I have to agree with MSleeper.
Contests are cool, but it needs to have either an amazing prize, or an amazing web layout for the activity to skyrocket.
For prize, we've got a signed poster. a very decent prize indeed, but a website launcher, not so much.
For website, well, lemme put it this way. I have the forum bookmarked. not the website.
The contest did one thing, it got people to get up and map. I was not expecting a storm of maps, but enough to fill up the front page. Even the maps that did not have new custom content are still awesome maps to have on our database.I see this contest as a success, we got more then one map, We have at least one of each type (One Portal 1 map, One Portal 2 SP, and One Portal 2 Co-op) Just because not all of them have the requirements to win the poster, they are all winners to have on our database in the end. I was only able to play a few so far as I was having issues with the data base. Besides one so far, although the quality was missing, they were still awesome puzzles that had me thinking, but not to a point of rage quitting.
And no, We will not reupload other people's work. . . Ever.
I also see myApertureInnovations to be more about us (The people here) then the mapping, custom content or anything else. We all join the chatroom on Saturdays, we play Minecraft, TF2, L4D, Portal 2 together and we all know and get along here. This forum is more about expanding this 'friendship' we all share to more people and the love we have for Portal, Source mapping and making custom content.
