Minecraft Mod Testing (Nether Better)
I have been working on a Minecraft mod called 'Nether Better', which as the name implies adds stuff to the Nether. Off the top of my head, what is added:
- 4 New Mobs, all unique in abilities
- 1 New Ore, as well as generates Gold and Coal in the Nether
- A lot of new blocks
- New Villager type that sells/buys mostly stuff from this mod
- New Flatworld type called 'Nether Better' that is (as you'd expect) a flat Overworld Nether-style thing.
- New powerful toolset and armor (BUT ONLY ONE - I hate mods that overdo this and add like 40 armor and toolsets into the game)
- Netheran Dungeons
- Various other tweaks and stuff I can't remember
What I want to do is test out this mod, but I need more than one person (ie me) testing it. So what I am asking is:
-
Does anyone have a server they feel free to donate to testing this (if not I will set up my own, but there's complications so it would be preferable to have it hosted elsewhere)
-
Does anyone feel up to testing it?
Here's some old and new screenshots so you get an idea of what i'm doing:
The Skeleton Pigman's skin is old, but the dungeons look the same.
The toolset.
Weakwood Trees. Newer versions have generation variation.

Wow, looks really good. But what are these "Netherrack with lava inside" things? Are them ores, or just decorative? Also, I can test it for SinglePlayer, without problems
Not ores but the decorative block that comes with the dungeons, like how mossy cobble is in normal dungeons. Except this one has two and it makes up the entireity of it instead of most of the floor.
While I appreciate it I need more mp testing, I have enough sp testing. If we do get a server through your definitely welcome to come on board for testing then!
I usually start a flame war by saying things like this, so I'm going to stop now before I get killed.

Meh, Minecraft has never held my attention for very long. It's a lot more sand-boxy and not as quest-oriented as Terraria. There's never really anything to do in Minecraft, and the first person view mixed with the 8-bit graphics are not appealing. Plus you loose all of your stuff when you die.I usually start a flame war by saying things like this, so I'm going to stop now before I get killed.
Well considering this isn't a Terraria vs. Minecraft thread, yeah you could start a flame war. This is a thread for Grox's mod, so keep the discussion on that.
