"I have an update for you after this next deadline. Not a fake, tragic, update like last time. A real update. With tragic consequences."
...Though they do still have slightly over 3 days until it isn't summer anymore.
I love editing Portal 2 references for some humor while we all impatiently wait....
No, but seriously. Wait another 6.5 hours and then you can say that the DLC hasn't come out on the beginning of a new "valve day" on Steam.
Valve better have something good up their collective sleeve.

This is way too long to wait for just challenge levels and leaderboards, IMO.Valve better have something good up their collective sleeve.
agreed

Erm... not just challenge levels... they also have new co op and SP levels for us... and hopefully a new mechanic?!
New levels are awesome, but there's no new story (as far as I know). The story is one of my favorite parts. New story is a lot to ask, I know, but... how will the new SP chambers fit in? Where will they be in the storyline? Will they just show up in the 'Extras' menu?
And if they do include a new mechanic, I hope it's the Pneumatic Diversity Vent. I was really looking forward to that. Maybe that's why they didn't take the vent video off the website, if they're planning on using it in the DLC. Otherwise, I thought they would've taken it off, if they scrapped it.
Whatever it has in it, I'm getting impatient. Come on, Valve!

Actually, there is a new co-op story. I'm not sure about an SP story, though; maybe, but probably not.
I did not know that. Well, that's exciting!
I agree, there's not a very good chance of more SP story. If there was, it wouldn't be a DLC, it would be Portal 3.
A sixth co-op course with its own new story
Challenge maps (least portals, least steps, least time) for both single player and co-op
*Leaderboards (in the same categories as the challenge maps) for both single player and co-op.
Since it's pretty clearly not coming out today, the 21st, the 23rd is now the most likely date seeing as how that is the last official day of summer in the northern hemisphere. Let's just hope that when Valve said "summer 2011," they weren't talking summer in the southern hemisphere...

OMG THAT WOULD SUCK.

By the way, how could portal 2 possibly need leaderboards if there is not a competitive side at all?
Well, it would be interesting to see how quickly you can complete a given test chamber in relation to other players. And then the ridiculously good players lake Transgenic could actually compete for the top 10 or so places.

Got to look out for those cheaters using 3rd party programs to solve puzzles quicker. I remember someone playing on Portal Prelude doing that.

I'm not sure how those programs work or how VAC works, but I'm sure Valve's Anti-Cheat system will be in place somehow.
