It has been a while since there was a mapping contest. I never actually entered one because I had just started mapping in May, so it has been like 4 or 5 months or so since the last contest. I remember reading a post by Msleeper saying they were held every couple months. I don't know. Just wondering. It encourages people to post some great maps.

I'm pretty sure all contests require new maps. Not previously uploaded ones. So also, please don't just take a map you've uploaded and make it a different style and give it a different name and call it a new map

Which is why contests encourage mappers to come out with new, great, maps.

I've been wondering this myself lately. I mean, I'm not complaining at all (really!), I understand that everyone must be busy, but it's been months since there was a community roundup/spotlight. Contests are nice because there are always such new/creative maps.
