Another PTI/Hammer mashup - this time a tiny wee map with a single puzzle. One room, one cube, one button, one funnel. Can't be too hard, right?

Screen:

Thanks to zivi7 for once again pointing out how I keep forgetting about the portal-bumping glitch.

Quite hard to pull off without funnel, but it is possible :p

No idea how to solve it with the funnel though.

Mind letting me know how you're managing it without the funnel? I did my best to prevent that, though if it's difficult enough I can leave it in.

The solution requires a little bit of skill, but not too much (I can pull it off every time, and I wouldn't call myself a particularly advanced player); it's more of a logical problem.

Is this gonna be one of those palm to forehead moments? I seem to be having a lot of those since finding TWP! I've been working this room for about an hour so far and am feeling like an idiot so far.

||I infiflinged myself through the roof, with the cube on the button.

Then I re-portaled my ceiling portal under the panels and while falling I pressed the button to get a new cube so the panels were open again and I won ||

Haha, well, if you're doing that then you might as well come up with an easier way to get the extra momentum and a portal on the other side without needing an infinifling...

Anyway, I can't really prevent that, but if you managed it then all the more respect to you!

EDIT: @rock_and_rage - I hope so. That is, I hope it's more 'palm-to-forehead' and less 'fist-to-screen'.... Like I say, there's a little skill involved, but certainly nowhere near what LP achieved (which I personally couldn't). There's a big clue under the spoiler stuff LP and I were just talking about, if you're really stuck.

Oh wait, you need the funnel? I thought you were trolling!

EDIT: OK got it, I used the funnel and walked away with the cube.
You should really remove the wall surfaces because you can see them too while flinging.

Lol, looks like I need to remove some ceiling panels.... thanks for that!

EDIT: Updated. Yeah, you're supposed to use the funnel, and you shouldn't really need to shoot any portals up top.

EDIT 2: Wow, that's a crazy technique there in the updated vid - from a logical perspective I can't really understand where the extra momentum is coming from. Regardless, I think I'll take your advice and get rid of the wall surfaces too.

I was actually thinking of making the cube required to open the door, but that just struck me as a bit mean, really....

Me Too - Still working on it with little success. I did take a peek at LP's solution and since I'm not even close to being a Ninja, I'll keep at what I think is the solution.

It looks like a2912871's video is gone, so I don't know how he/she solved it. But I solved it by funneling up to the ceiling against glass panels, then portal ceiling above cube, when through portal, fire ceiling portal under you, grab cube, and you're home. Though you may have to strafe a bit. Nice little puzzle.

I was soooo close yesterday and then spent most of the day today thinking about this puzzle. Unfortunately, didn't get much done at the office today. Finally came up with what I thought was the solution and couldn't wait to get home....took me a few tries and nailed it! Really, really cool!

Yup, RogerL and rock_n_rage both got it.

a2912871's vid showed a method that is not possible any more. I did, however, find a slight variation to the intended solution that can be achieved without using the funnel. I'm thinking about using that idea as part of a challenge version of the chamber....

Ah, I see I've also been hit with the dreaded exit-door-doesn't-open bug. Is there a fix for that yet?

Open it in hammer and try to replace your exit-corridor instance with another exit-corridor instance?
