Difficulty: Medium if you catch onto the unorthodox puzzle mechanic quick, Hard otherwise.

Loved this map! Maybe it was just an extended blonde moment, but it took ages to figure out those flings despite it looking like such a simple map
Cheers ^^

Interesting solution, sicklebrick, although I don't quite get the need for the last little bit.... I actually used the funnel to catch the blob just as it was about to enter a portal and then quickly shot away to get it in a low bounce. Fun map.

Heh, I tried that once or twice, but timing isn't my strong suit

Can I just say how much I really appreciate your included youtube videos for all your playthroughs, sicklebreak? They're super helpful.

Thanks for the feedback as per usual.

Took me a second to figure out what you were saying but I get it now, I'll fix this up. While I don't normally mind strict timing solutions, that's a little too tight for my tastes.

Thanks for the help and playing.

I wouldn't bother trying to fix that, if I were you. I was actually really pleased with myself for coming up with it, for one, and I didn't think it was particularly difficult to do. Plus sicklebrick's solution for getting the blob back in the funnel and taking it to the end was legit, I'm assuming, and easier to pull off, so I don't see a problem. Sometimes multiple solutions are nice.

Besides which, I don't think you'll be able to block that anyway, without a substantial reworking of the puzzle.

Actually sicklebrick's solution wasn't intended, but I was fine with it considering that it followed an interesting and logical train of thought and didn't require any sort of precise timing. That sort of alternate solution is totally fine by me. The twitch solutions are just something I've been trying to avoid, so I feel obligated to eliminate it, if only out of principle.

That said, it only took me a little while to think of a good work-around for your solution and I think I got it covered: a 1x3 pane of glass blocking the excursion funnel from the second platform.

Unfortunately, it seems that with the glass there, sicklebrick's solution is no longer possible.

I'm not sure if it's worth it or not, but at the very least, the puzzle is probably a little harder now and that's always a plus in my book.

EDIT: I actually totally misinterpreted your solution, so disregard a good chunk of what I just said. There REALLY wasn't that much twitch involved. But I have a much better reason for changing it now. The puzzle was too easy that way.

Ah, crap, you updated it before I could finish rendering this video. I'll post it here anyway:

Regardless, I just played the updated version, and I finished it in a somewhat similar way. This time I just got the blob in a low-ish bounce between floor portals to begin with, quickly nipped through the portal to the second platform while it was in the air then shot a portal under the exit same as before. Not sure if that was what you were after - if not I still need to do some thinking....

Heheh, nice ^^ I thought from your description that you were slowing down the paint-in-floor-blog-thing by funneling it while close to the ground >.<

Wow, really? I didn't think that was possible, the window of time seems so small.

I don't think there's much I can do about that, honestly, so I'll just have to live with it. No big deal.

I'll just post the intended solution here, as I don't want to overhype the puzzle.

You can also just wait till the paint blob slows down while it's flinging between the portals.

I anticipated that one although I didn't confirm it myself. I hoped that no one would be patient enough to find out.

This has been really helpful guys, thanks for the response. Gel bomb mechanics have interested me a ton recently and I've been experimenting with them a lot. It's how I've gotten to making my past few maps and I think I can squeeze a few more maps out of it too, although none that'll be reliant as this puzzle was with flinging a bomb. There's just too many problems with it.
