Hey everyone. I'm fairly new around here, and this is the first map that I've posted here.

It's a Hammer remake of one of my old PTI maps, in the overgrown/reconstructing style, and is also my first foray into making full maps with Hammer (although I did start with a PTI draft that I added to).

Yes, it's a bit short, but like I said, this was pretty much an exercise to learn the more advanced features of Hammer. I'm glad to have done it, because I actually learnt a lot from making it.

Enjoy!

Cheers, that was really nice - not too hard or anything, but pretty
I've seen the self powering laser chain a few times, but only in crazy hard maps, so it's pretty cool seeing it put to good use here.

Thanks for the comments! The laser puzzle was pretty much inspired by that one Mevious map (Perpetual Lasers, I think it was)
And I'm glad that the design was appreciated - I wasn't sure if I'd really done it right so that's a relief

Well, I like the map a lot To be the first hammer map you make is pretty nicely detailed and consistent, even mixing BTS with destroyed/decay theme! So good job!

About puzzles, it was a very creative usage of the laser relays (and I don't remember having played to any of Mevious maps with the same mechanic... but maybe I missed some of them; I'll go check now ). I enjoyed them and think they're funny and clever.

I found a little failure with the piston lifter by accident, maybe because the 2 laser_relays that control it are too close, or maybe it has to do with the set up you used, dunno... it's not a big deal though.

I've recorded a video solution, there you'll see what I'm meaning:

Thanks! And I see what you mean with the piston platform. That's probably just the I/O's getting confused.

Also, I saw you made a bit of a cut at the end there. I'll have to fix that. Probably just put a brush over the exit that's enabled/disabled by the laser catcher.

[Also, as general note to anyone who's played the map, I've fixed the elevator screens so that they don't show a video any more. It didn't come up during playtesting, but it was there on the workshop.]
