Heheh, loving Shakky's 2:20 and final moves, and Grey's ceiling fling across the big gap (nice way to gain some forward momentum there) and that last floor portaled cube..
This whole uninteded solution thing is pretty awesome.

Ha! to me glitches never count... Indeed I'd suggest a score of 3-1

Thanks for the new video though Shakky I loved the music!

Fine have your pity point.

4-1 it is.

Probably my favourite jump I've done so far.

I didn't record all the gel setup but I think you can see how everything was done.

It's your move I guess.

All of these unintended solutions have been fun to watch, but, really, all you show is what everyone already knows: white gel breaks maps. How about putting some effort into finding the intended solution? It's surprising to me that through several iterations of Chander's original map and several of josepezdj's that no one has yet found it.

Hehehe... this damn ninja!

Thanks RogerL for your comments. Indeed, yesterday I told Shakky the same on steam 'what about finding the intended solution?' but I guess they have their point. They prefer to play that way because it's funnier. And when a map based in gels comes out I bet they get incredibly excited thinking about how many ways there are to break it Also Shakky told me that it's better to do this at first moments because once the intended solution has been found, ppl lose interest... and that's true...

It's difficult to prevent all those ninja moves in advance, the reason is that I'm not one of them, so many of those crazy jumps would be impossible for me even training! But it's fine... I'm not taking this battle in an offensive way, everyone here does his part and we're all having fun . In fact I like how they are uncovering little spots where the map is weak, because I can make it more perfect. That last video by Shakky is great too Tbh I was waiting for someone who could use that right part to do something unintended, I knew you could paint that wall in front of the glass wall but I thought that part was still strong... it was a truly amazing move About the final jump, Shakky, this time you deserve an big laserfield on the ceiling

My main problem against these ninjas is that I am almost at the max allowed level for models and entities! I have to think calmly my next move without making the map crash because of "no free edicts"

I generally like to hunt out the intended solutions in maps, however, it has been most frustrating in this map. The up/down is tedious - at least for what I am trying. I've also painted the upper chamber to drop the cube ala Chander, although there is another drop on method - timing on both is tight for me. Painting the drop down panel makes getting to the back chambers easier. Now I am tring to figure out an intended solution for getting over to the exit platform. Generally I try to stay away from such complex/hard maps as I get hooked and spend too much time on them once I get started...

The map is updated again. This is version 1.4. Hopefully all those crazy ninja jumps to the final ledge are prevented now There is more glass (again) to prevent certain surfaces from being painted.

I must say I'm so sorry for all these continues updates since I guess you'll have to restart to paint it all over from scratch...

Quatrus, thanks for continuing on, I'm glad you got hooked on it Let me insist, the required up/down times are 6 or 7 as much... and it all only takes about 5 minutes; I don't really think it is that tedious for a map this big, do maybe you are trying another new interesting approach

Hmmm... that approach is more 'ala Markiu' than 'ala Chander' if I may say... hehehe. Again, there's no need to paint all that upper chamber my approach only requires you to paint a bit (like 128x128 units) the floor near the button... Chander's approach doesn't require even a single bit of paint there!

Please move on to the new version. BSP available in the map's description

Hahaha... never!

Well, about this last one, I have to say I was a bit careless with those frames! I have trigger_paint_cleansers in all the rest of frames (because there are a lot and they can be painted blue allowing you to jump on them), but I simply forgot those side grate frames.

However, the jump to skip part 1 is pretty legit, even though ninja

Map updated to v1.5

Odd no one can seem to find the intended solution which I presume is not "tricky" or takes advantage of mapping glitches...and takes only 5-6 minutes to complete....I can't even get the center painted in 5 minutes.... too slow....

Quatrus, the intended solution is not tricky, I think it's cool. Ofc it is about painting the right stuff to use your portals and elements in a specific way. To complete the level you'll need more than 5-6 minutes, I didn't want to confuse you about that. My meaning was that going up and down 6 times to paint the required stuff only takes around 5-6 minutes but I haven't really measured that; I could do if you need the approximated time, but that's not the point: the point is that you don't need everything painted on white to solve the first part and jump to the second one, and I don't really think it's such an oddity, due to the dimensions of the level.

I don't know if I should drop a hint now, at least for the part of moving the cube from buttons... just tell me.

I think the cold hard truth is that it's just too hard to be solved within a week in a oner.
I was spending ages setting up potential solutions, and then getting pretty frustrated when they didn't work or a tiny mistake meant I had to sit in the funnels all over again. Then faced with a reload\resetup, I didn't want to chance the riskier solutions.

I kinda wonder if we'll see people solve this section by section...
-We've worked out the cube bit.
-We've worked out the funnel bit.
-We have a rough idea of how to paint the panel above the faith plate. (marKiu's original sln)
-We know how to cross the acid once the panel above the faith plate is painted
-We have plenty of solutions for the next area
-There appears only to be one valid solution to the very end area (white paint into funnel)

Would love to have a crack at 1.5 right now, but there's so much Christmassing to fit in

It's beautiful to watch the programmer vs the ninja's, seen it before and I think it makes for stronger maps. Still I find the intended ways to be most interesting.
I get the necessary bits painted white and the cube from the first button up to the second button and then fling to the back. Get stuck at getting the cube from up top into the back chamber - then getting myself back there again without the painted angle panel.
I think I see the exit solution light bridge from the front room through to the exit platform, but seems when I get to this point - a new update to challenge the latest break and then, of course, I want to start over again.
Omitting the special cubes and the upper area. Still very enjoyable and beautiful map showcasing your skill with hammer.

I took a crack at the map today for a while and I have found a way to get the faith plate platform white. My way doesn't need any gel at all to setup it.

I'll take a closer look later today after I am done with all this dota 2.

EDIT. I have a solution! It's much more legit seeming than the previous ones and it might be intended. Only thing that feels iffy is the last jump.

I will record a full video this time to show all parts. I'll post it here as soon as I'm done.

EDIT2. After a quick chat with josepezdj it looks like this is not the intended solution but I like it so much I might have to make my own remix. We'll see.

Here we go. My first try for the actual intended solution. It's probably not worth of it's own remix so I'll just post it here.

I've heard from josepezdj it's not intended though because getting blue gel to the first area shouldn't be possible.

JXFMMD6R_K4

I hope it's not all wrong. I'll take another look at the map later.

Although I made some progress on this very ambitious effort, I must admit that after many hours . . . I could not get through to the end. I reached the point where I simply had to view the solution/s here to be able to complete this map.

It is an amazing feat even though I was unable to solve it all.
I found myself saying "how the hell can I do that?" at every turn - LOL.

I must say, Josepezdj's previous 3-chamber map (forgot the name) remains my favorite of his.
It had a magical mystique about it and it was a map that most people eventually solved. It just took a fair amount of time, which is what you want in a good map.

Shakky, I'm so proud of you! To be frank I like it more when you play seriously (and you use the stuff around instead of breaking it). Really good job, you ALMOST got it! As I told you the blue gel in main area was not intended... it's not needed to do that last move as if you were a ninja either, it can be done slightly easier...

Let's do this: I won't say what is intended and what is not yet. I ask you to play v1.6 and let's hope this time you'll find out the bit you're still missing...

@PCDoc: hey! thanks for your words mate! I know this is very much harder than The Second Exodus; this is a side project I had to do after playing the original because I thought some cool solutions I wanted to develop. Let's see if the intended walkthrough is upon the taste of players or not. All the intended stuff can be made by mere mortals, I can assure you. There are a few tricky movements but nothing ninja.

7-1.

The new update introduced some problems. First of all I can't see how getting the first cube is possible anymore. Apart from that the new timed fence thing can be used to jump to the other part.

Hey, Shakky, you're "dirty" ninja . Stop braking the map. Actualy, it's already solved in more or less intended way. The new version is apparently broken, so we cannot get the cube. And this prevents me from recording my solution. Though, most credits for the final move goes to you. Cheers.
