Yea originally you would have beat the map then by getting the 3 cubes which I imagine was pretty easy, all I did was make it so one fizzler doesn't turn off permanently and it makes it more interesting :p

I thought this was your best map so far. The puzzles were more challenging and varied. It took me awhile to find how to complete it once I got all three cubes. The third room I'm pretty sure I completed it in an unintended manner, because I never used the lightbridge in that room. You might want to move the cube dropper button further from the funnel, 'cause you can jump on top of it and then get into the funnel. Great job!

Thanks Roger , the light bridge and even the cube button that turns off the fizzler are just for handiness sake so its easier to see where the cube lands in the middle otherwise you kinda have to guess. So will probably keep it in for some varied solutions for once.

Great map!
Took a while to figure how to get the funnel back after getting all three cubes.
Very nice to combine the first and the second chamber
Nice job looking forward to nr5

Thanks, glad you like it marKiu, like i said the entire last section where you hunt for a way to get an excursion funnel was an accident because when playtesting I forgot to permanently disable a fizzler so decided id try and still solve it anyway, glad I did cause just getting the 3 cubes was far too easy, hooray for mapping mistakes

Also out of interest in the first room I tried a little psychological trick, wanna know who fell for it
The cube in the first room originally autospawned when you entered so your attention is drawn to it fizzling so you go the left and its easy to solve the puzzle by putting the cube on that button, but by making you head to the right and activate it yourself, when you see it you will try to protect the cube by standing on the button and let it pass through the fizzler which gets you nowhere xD

Wow, awesome puzzle and awesome visuals!
The puzzles were pretty good all the way through, and that last minute twist was just the icing on the cake, ty

My God, LoneWolf! This is incredible! Again you have excelled yourself with the new part of the series! Again this is my favourite

I spent quite a lot of time getting the first cube dude, I think I suffered some kind of mental block (haha... looks like that psychological trick you used had a certain effect in me indeed! LOL, I am a pychologist!)

I think I did not completely intended though since I didn't use some stuff at dot 3. I spent a whole evening in there trying to get the funnel from there but nothing. I tried to use the bridge in dot 2 to enter dot 3 and I even grabbed the reflector cube with me to see if I could respawn the clean regular cube of dot 3 and get back through the bridge to change the cubes but I couldnd't. The bridge inside dot 3 didn't help at any time either.

I hope you'll like my solution though!

It took me quite a while to figure out that I could NOT get all 3 cubes and then simply shoot a portal into the floor to beam up the 3rd cube to the ceiling.

I then realized I had to sort of start over again but use different means to the end.
Very cool. In fact - although it seemed hard, it was very smoothly done once I had finished and it all fit together so well.

Like a well-made jigsaw puzzle.
No not "that JigSaw" - I retained all my body parts and did not have a locked on metal helmet with pneumatic skull-crushing piston.

I'll save that for part 5

Thanks josepezdj and PCdoc Glad you both liked it ^_^ Thanks for the video josepezdj

I already know about either jumping on the button or the cube to avoid using the light bridge or button, I want to keep it in though cause it is a pretty ingenious solution, im keeping the original solution for people who play a little more conventionally

LoneWolf, would you let me know what parts are intended and which ones are not? I'm curious! As I think dot 3 can't be intended that way (because I did not use some elements), I'll keep on trying!

Like I said its not really unintended, kind of an alternate solution, not sure how many people would think to jump on the button or do a backward jump off the cube to get in to the funnel but I think its clever enough to let you avoid using the light bridge to do the same so im keeping it in.

Another great addition in your series. Keep it up, dude. For various reasons, i had quite some time to play Portal. And it felt great returning with such an awesome map, between a few others.

Playthrough
Some things: Is the disabling fizzler in the third puzzle necessary? It doesn't seem like it matters at all, or maybe I'm missing something. I really liked the idea of the meta-puzzle at the end to figure out how to get the funnel into the hub room, but I was a little disappointed in the solution. The interaction between two intersecting funnels doesn't seem very defined, and I wasn't really expecting what I did to work until I tried it.

Complaints aside, the dilapidation series has been one of my favorites. I have no idea why these maps aren't in the spotlight category.

Edit: I see you answered a question about the fizzler in the third room above. Nevermind then.

Thanks for the playthrough, you solved it identically to how I intended You seem to have a very similar playstyle to myself, and of course a quicksave before you try anything risky

Glad you still liked it despite the downsides As for spotlight xD, I think I have a long way to go before my maps are that good

The rest of the series is all planned out, the final 4 maps, they just have to be built, I think this will definitely be my toughest map though xD But my rule is always a tough to think about map, but easy to perform the solution when you figure it out, mostly cause im terrible at ninja stuff so i wouldnt be able to beat my own maps

I played this a while back and I have to say I agree with Mevious that this is worth the spotlight. All the while playing and solving it I was like 'it looks great' and 'that's clever' and 'thinking with portlals!!21' and 'I can't really fault this in any way'. Actually that reminds me I didn't finish it, because of that tricky ending puzzle and I didn't have time. But I will return to it. Honestly amongst countless of front page workshop maps I have given up on being good, maps like these that get everything right stand out that much more. I even like the visuals better than most Hammer maps, something about the colour scheme I think. And there's the fact that you keep everything nice and compact. So nothing but gushing from me, looking forward to the next part

Thanks so much! Now im worried part 5 will be awful compared to this, im trying to keep the puzzle variety up but light bridge/ faith plate puzzles aren't my strong suit
