I originally gave up on this map due to the technical limitations re-scripting vehicles in VScript, but what the hell, it might still be fun for a mess around.

Full of little issues, but hopefully it's pretty enough to make up for that
Anyway, gimme a shout if you'd like the original .VMFs and assets to build it into a real puzzle or whatevers.

Oh, and muchos cookies to LPFreaky for last minute optimisation and LPFreaky, Shakky and Smidgens for playtesting

Q: No crash\Skid Sounds.
A: Can't alter sound manifest, meaning only sounds in the original manifests can be used.

Q: Steering is pretty sticky.
A: I've done a lot to minimise this, but so much is hardcoded that this is about the best.

Q: Where's the handbrake?!
A: Between the seats. But it crashes the game. So no handbrake.

Q: It feels pretty slippy.
A: Yup, portal wasn't designed with the tire material type, so friction's an issue.

Q: World portals? Giant regular portals?
A: Nope, they're not portalable.

Q: Vehicle colour is a bit screwey.
A: It is.

Q: Lag.
A: It's laggy.

I didn't get too much lag, but I was host. Even with those bugs, it was really enjoyable and looked awesome. The environment was really interesting. Because of the bugs you can't fix, I give this a 5/5.

Iviv and LyLy here, and we played Portal Kart! While we had all the issues you already addressed, this map was outrageously fun!

Haha, thanks guys. I love your vids; 16 mins passed pretty fast.
Unfortunately there's not much I can do about all those bugs - it really wasn't designed for mario kart, but I'm glad you had a laugh =)
Didn't realise how much you liked the funk tank, maybe he'll return sometime in the new year, loaded with a fresh batch of gnome and penguin!

its a vehicle script. We also used it in our valentine map where you have a free camera in a tuberide in coop

Hah, nono... the vehicle script .txt is essentially a reworked pod from HL2, and the .NUT file is just a few lines to trigger the vehicle to take the players
